Maps are like books - they're there to be read. There's nowt like sitting by your blazing log fire, of an evening, with a pile of maps, and a glass of a little something to hand. If you can read a map, you can picture the lanscape in your minds eye, except for populating it with flora, or ground cover. Experience of the area will enable you to do that. Buy maps - they're brill.
