Just a thought

Like you Nigel I'm not going to get drawn into this debate again - it's completely fruitless. Silverfox sent me a little poem a couple of days ago though - seems a shame to waste it, so here it is and folks can make of it what they will -

The Swastika

There's a funny little cross
that crops up now and then
some say it causes no offence
to others just a little sign.

To me it reeks of death
white copses piled up high
shovelled into rotting heaps
on down to stinking pits.

Then come the trivial ones
with that sign around their neck
or make it part of a pseudonym
a party game perhaps.

They say it causes no offence
just another little sign
to me I hear the hiss of gas
the crunch of leather boots
iron doors closing lastly shut
six million screams up chimney stacks.

But some just say it causes no offence
to others just a little sign
a page of history growing faint...
until it comes again.

Silverfox

Crumbs, that's clever. I reckon that's fair enough for Meg Poems with a suitable illustration, you being in supreme editorial control and that... ;)
