That well has only recently had the landscaping and fence erected. A few years ago it looked like this: http://www.megalithomania.com/show/image/1339 : and no one bothered to visit it. I'm not 100% sure, but I think the people at the shop did the work. Until that was done the site never had offerings left at it.

I have no problem with offerings, when the practice has been going on for a long time. I am also aware that traditions have to start somewhere, who says modern people can't start something that will be thought of as a tradition in 200 years time? I just wish they wouldn't leave plastic tat and tealights.
