West coast?

Kilmartin is wondrous. Loadsa old stuff, and a decent campsite:

It's a bit of a hike to get there though, due to the extreme wiggliness of the coastline, it might be worth thinking about going via Arran, the ferries are frequent enough.

From Kilmartin to Skye, if you don't mind seriously steep hairpin bends, go via Glenelg/kylerhea where the Brochs are neat, and the ferry spins about. It's prettier than Kyle of Lochalsh.

On Skye, I can heartily reccomend the Sligachan campsite:
