Nigel - if you can get flights, cars and accom booked, we're staying at a bungalow in Callanish village and you're welcome to chill with me and us our bungalow as a retreat when you get tired.. I'm not going out stomping around or anything stupid like that. Sitting looking will be my most favoured activity and it'd fun for us to do this together. Bring yer paints!

That's a lovely offer Jane but it's a bit too far and too cold I'm afraid. You can keep nagging though, I like that!
I did fantasize about hiring a helicopter and just touching down for an hour or two, dressed in a DJ.

Wasn't there a TV play about an old lady who went up there to peg out, sitting against one of the stones? I could do that, but it might put a bit of a damper on things...
