I just fashion hazel sticks as ever, but I hear from a friend that a sprung 'proper' walking pole like wot they do in Blacks is tha bomb.

Nat, I'm taking the family to Cheddar for T's birthday in a couple of weeks, I haven't been for 30 years so can you send me any tips?

Is Wookey Hole worth it still?

Do you know I've never been to Wokey Hole!! Yesterday was my first EVER trip to Cheddar!! lol...

My main tip is if you park the car up and walk to the top, following the road all the way to where the Gorge levels out, DON'T follow the sign that says Bridle Way as it's actually one heck of a climb up a steep bank, we think someone stuck the sign the wrong way! Keep following the road round the bend a bit further and there is a proper path, which we only found after slippity sliding up this bank and getting covered in mud!! lol..

We walked along the ridge way and then came down the Jacobs Ladder steps... but you can do it the other way!

Where blimmin good walking boots as it was slippy!

But sit and look at the views as they're lovely :o)

When a couple of years ago we were camping at Wookey Hole, we were surprised to find the Wookey Hole Inn had more Belgian Beers on draught than I usually encounter in Belgium: 8! (and then I don't even speak of the bottled beers). Even beers I've never even séén on draught here. Super food! Try Koninck, it's a light amber beer from my old hometown Antwerp.
