I don't use my wonderfully top of the range state of the art telescopic walking stick, purely because I only have one!!

I find that when I use it it buggers up my one knee as, obviously, I walk totally differently when I have a stick. One leg gets a hell of a pounding compared to the other. Hate the bloody thing!

ever tried swopping the pole to other other hand from time to time ;-)

Yea, I have the same problem and I reckon (contrary to Mr BaconBonse's advice) two poles might be the answer, but I have yet to try it. I don't mind looking like a prat if it helps my poor old knees.
