The Thurstones is bigger than what you have recognised - please remove your inverted commas, they are no longer needed. The way to accept the veracity of the row is to use it - to identify a specific moon or sunrise - and the Mayday and Lammas sunrises are the the simplest ones to observe.

There are stones in the field below and the steep banks of Dakin's Brook are littered with suitably sized boulders that must have been just rolled down the hillside. Toothill ( http://www.themodernantiquarian.com/site/7949 ) is just across the way and is deserving of better pictures and then, of course, there's

Toothells ( http://www.themodernantiquarian.com/site/7924 ) which particularly needs pictures capturing of the forecourt - to the northeast - and the drystone revetment beside and below it. (That may be the oldest drystone walling in Bolton !)

Also plse take a look (and perhaps some snaps) of the Dean Ditch Barrow, listed here, which terminates the eastern end of the ditch. ( ! )
