On board?? Phase 2 is an integral part of our proposal. That proposal was written by Nigel, Littlestone and myself as a response to Alastair Darling, Minister of Transport. It is foolish to do that and omit the transport issue. The other ideas in the proposal can be extracted and sent elsewhere also of course.

The "do nothing" lobby are being terribly naive. That message simply gives the government a cheap "get out" option. If the megalithic community simply says that the A303 doesn't bother us, Min of Trans will be delighted and leave it there as a permanent blight. Remember also that some Wiltshire councillors are lobbying to leave the A303 where it is, but double its width!! Think about that before you let the uncovered road remain in situ. Four fast lanes of dual carriageway hurtling traffic from London to Cornwall. Better by far to move the damn thing as far away as possible.

"Phase 2" is NOT an integral part of our proposal - not on this thread Peter !

You are welcome to join those subscribing to the viewpoint on this thread which seperates the issues in an attempt to introduce measures that as many as possible can and will support in order to get something done.

Or you and anyone that wants to join you can stick to the viewpoint on the other thread.

Best wishes either way,

VBB

I did indeed contribute to writing the submission Peter, and there's nothing wrong with it. Except. It has become apparent that it is not getting the unequivocal wide support that I hope for it and it is therefore weakened.

That is why i said on the other thread - "Achievable Stonehenge must be iterated and submitted to lots of other high places where mention of the A303 isn't mandatory. If it is, in that form, it will be supported universally by the megalithic public."

So I agree with you. Part 1 CAN be extracted and sent elsewhere and does have a chance of support. That's what VBB is essentially proposing and what this thread is about.
