That sounds strange if the folder contains jpegs, maybe when you open them with Paint Shop its saving them as Paint Shop files? There should be a drop down list when you go to 'save as..' with different formats like Tiff, jpeg etc. It might default to its own file format. If thats not it, Im not sure what the problem is, could be the jpegs are in AdobeRGB colour space but then I think one or two of mine slipped through in this colour space.
