How about more recent? St Oliver Plunkett was hung drawn and quartered in 1679. His head is on display in St. Peter's Catholic Church in Drogheda. It is still venerated/worshiped.

Yeah, that hairy yoke is rank! I'm from Drogheda and they brought us in to see it when we were just knee high to a grass hopper. Worse than watching any horror flick for a child, a feckin shrivelled head with tufts of hair springing out of it. I could see that feckin thing every time I closed my eyes for months, no wonder the country is psycho.
