Hi Andy
I'm ashamed to say that Perthshire has always been somewhere I pass through to get somewhere else. I don't know the area at all.
I was planning on dropping Paulus a line before I went and get some instructions from him. I reckon it's an 8 or 9 km trek from the dam but I don't know what access is like up there. Is it open access or dodge the keeper country?

well we should sort that out then, Perthshire's got so many treats hidden away just off the main "passing through" routes

the end of Glen Lyon is pretty much open access, no-one'll mind as long as we don't go sheep-bothering. 9km is about right from the dam. there's no parking at the dam but there is a few kms back which was why I was thinking bikes might be an idea. there's a rough track for all but the last couple of kilometres, so it'd give you time to see some more stuff the same day

Cheers
Andy

You 2 have given me a good idea about what I'm gonna be up to this year. Visiting the old cailleach in her many places has gotta be done. Think I'll sleep in a few of her places to see what dreams she brings. I'm spending a few weeks in a Buddhist retreat, but either side of that I think old Glen Lyon's a-calling...

Lemme know when you might be going.
