According to this site:

If anyone out there (are you there, Mr Gray?) wants to do the maths as to what the amount required would be to roof the structure, jump onboard........ If nothing else, it's an intriguing "take" on Stonehenge. :-)

Didn't realize thatch was so light Pilgrim - interesting.

Peter has suggested hide as a roofing material. Turf I think was also used in prehistoric Britain. Can't think of anything else 'organic' - 'though in some countries bark still makes an excellent roofing material.
