Where to for the winter solstice?

I'm going to join the swarm at Newgrange I think, Munich is organising another Winter Solstice Blitz this year starting at Baltray again I suspect so might join them there or go to Newgrange first then join the rest after that. No firm plans yet though.

One place I know I'll be heading for is Dowth for sunset, the once a year opportunity to see some of the rarest carvings in the Boyne valley.

Yes - sunset is the signifcant time not sunrise.

Somebody has to sort out them trees though such a pain in the ass. I really enjoyed last years Blitz was very good especially Dowth. At the moment im thinking of calling in sick and heading down to Limerick to the Grange Lios at Lough Gur.
