Yep, gonna get obsessive about this if I'm not careful but they all seem to make a bit more sense when you think 'practical'. I know we've discussed this before but why shouldn't a cursus have just been a semi-protected avenue for livestock from A to B? I do get a bit pi*sed off with all this 'ritual' stuff. The Chelmer (Springfield) Cursus (and I'm sitting at the top end of where it used to be :-) runs straight down towards the river. It's simple - there's no need for fancy tornado theories, etc etc - it's just a friggin' semi-protected avenue down to the river.
