surely you just take your atlas and draw a straight line (0.3mm HB pencil is best) between St Michael's Mount in Cornwall and Mont St Michel in France? is his house marked on the atlas?

seriously though, if you dig down in the back garden to a depth of around 7 metres you should come to a thin black line, if indeed you are on the ley
