Hi Bucky
this is a question I have been thinking about for quite some time now and that is why I brought it to the forum.
My conclusion after this debate is that I will not be posting the precise locations of sites that I feel to be vunerable such as axe flaking floors, small quarries, portable rock art or small upright stones. I will also be looking over my previous posts and editing them where neccessary.
I recently read an amusing and disturbing account concerning two old ladies who were found trying to steal a moorland wheel-head cross and place it in the boot of their car.
cheers

I agree Fitz, the main point of us being on TMA is because we feel a passion for something, be it rock art, standing stones etc..as part of that passion we want to protect those things we love, so that we are not the last generation to see such things. We all must think carefully before posting locations of sites, in that if i was to post a location would this endanger the site, that is something we can do as individuals or if we have close associates within TMA speak to them , perhaps have a discussion between friends about posting locations. I only realised myself recently that you can still post a site without giving the grid references, so that it will only go in a site area, maybe that is a way to go?...i am in the same vain of thought as Fitz that if i feel it is something that will endanger the site i will not post the location.
