Mine must be losing my car keys inside the chamber of Newgrange on the morning of the Winter Solsice. The guides were very helpful and allowed me back in after they had locked up before the tours started, though I'm not sure they really believed me. They were in such a good mood after the great show that morning and had let us fire off some photos, I'm sure they thought I wanted to get some more. After getting an intimate feel inside the cracks in the bowl of the rear chamber we gave up. When I got back to the car after searching the road I saw to my horror the keys were in the ignition. The alarm fob had broken off and I carried it seperate so even though the keys were inside the car was safely locked. I was in such a hurry to get up to get a look inside after the lucky few had been in to view the solstice that I left them behind!

Ah! That's another one for me. Locked me car keys in me car at Templewood, Kilmartin.

Not to bad tho, walked back to the village via all the burials, phoned Brittania Rescue & they just happened to have an agent in the next village! He was there within 30 mins of phoning & the car was open within 30 seconds of that!!!

Then there was the time when my brakes stuck on at Callanish & me & Ginger John went all the way from the Isle of Lewis to Leeds on the back of a breakdown truck (cept while on the ferry!) - via the garage right next to Clava Cairns!!! That one was gonna be mentioned in a weblog, but I never got round to it.... It also wasn't so much embarrassing as just a nitemare!!!!

I parked up in the lane by Lettergorman South and went trudging over to the stones. A few minutes later a milk tanker came down the lane, so I had to move. Got back to the car ... no keys ... car locked ... mobile inside!

Tanker driver had to reverse out of lane. He was very good about it and said he'd come back later. Eventually I found my keys in the field. Very lucky. Very embarassing.

I'm really interested in moments like this. In my mind, Spirit meant you to have time alone in there. What did you experience? Please don't tell me you didn't!
