Yep, I'm another who has somehow completely missed Mr Cope until I came here.

However, I do think he's done a great deal of good in tipping the scales of opinion in favour of ancient sites during an era when commerce and government have decided they're pretty much expendable. History will prove it and praise him.

And I really enjoy his monthly rants. He says stuff I'd like to shout out in Tescos, but daren't.
