I was aware of the Teardrops when I was a young lad but actually got into The Cope when WORLD SHUT YOUR MOUTH (the single) came out and have been to see the archdrude on many occasions since, the last being at colchester arts centre last september. I already had a, lapsed, interest in stones and archaeology mainly stemming from an expedition I took across dartmoor in 1988, but The Modern Antiquarian definately rekindled this interest. I thought it was cool that Julian Cope was into the same stuff as me.
As for fave songs....I have to admit that I love REWARD from the Teardrops years and am a massive fan of the first two solo albums. It's difficult to choose one song, but I guess it's a toss-up between SUNSPOTS and ME SINGING. I also have a strange soft spot for HOBBY on Floored Genius 2 and I love ROBERT MITCHUM from Skelligton as both show the humorous side I've always enjoyed in your stage banter.
