Its lijke the Grail and the Holy Rood, the legends are surrounded with mysticism and as such, many are attracted to the quest to find them.

There ae many other factors which obviously I won't post on an open forum, but that lead me to believe that behind the myths and legends, there is some basis of truth to the tales.

Although the people who visit this forum might be aware of the many possibilities about the SoD there are many out there who don't. The whole story from the Neolithic in Ireland through to the liberation of the stone from Westminster and then its final return to Scotland (even if it is a cover off a medieval cess pit) is an amazing tale. Should make good TV if it's done properly - it certainly makes good reading.

The main thing about the SoD is not whether it is actually what it is portrayed to be, but what it stands for - several thousand years of incredible Heritage.
