It's odd to consider how much sentiment is connected with some stones while others - the former Bradup stone circle, for instance - are utterly neglected. "It's not rational, Jim".

I agree, but it's down to their role in lore isn't it. When a stone (or anything else for that matter) is associated with the inauguration of a leader and your right to rule has been taken away from you by force then obviously feelings will run high.
