Mmm... good stuff and *amazing* wizard hats! Wonder if our modern wizard hats derive from some ancient folk memory or from something more recent - middle-eastern even?

There are four hats like that (I think), one or two from Ireland.

Whole program let down in the Santa Claus dept. I'm afraid. How they could make such a stupid mistake is beyond me.

Once again far too much certainty. Hardly any of the 'facts' used are known for sure and many are just suppositions. Admittedly they are probables, but not definites.

IIRC the wizard hats were once normal Welsh garb i.e. everyday folk wore them. Could always toss the old Phrygian cap into the ring, but I've a vague momory of its being distinctly unpointy.
