you should create a website yourselves

And that's the problem. It takes money, and most of all time.

We have a great benefactor here in Julian, Holy McG etc. Probably more than most realise. And I know how hard Andy works over on the Portal.

It's not just design, it's keeping the stuff tidy, safe from attack, focussed, and updated with new content. TMA didn't appear overnight.

Another period website needs someone with a high level of commitment (and deep pockets for the hosting/bandwidth fees).

I've been thinking about something that covers Early Christian stuff for a while now so that I can move all the round towers and high crosses etc. off megalithomania. Making it a contributionary (is that a word?) site would seem sensible.

There's definite funding routes if people are willing to put up with (appropriate) advertising and a shop selling celtic brooches n stuff for instance. I certainly have the server space to do it, but the main thing is the time!!!!!!

The megalithic stuff is my first love and so the time comes easy. There is a definite need for a site for this sort of thing though, covering say the year zero to the 12th Century (to get all that lovely Romanesque stuff in there). A simple themed photo gallery would be no problem, but it would be much better to have it all inter-linked and structured in a similar way to TMA or the Portal.
