Vindicated ...

OK. The fall *IS* represented on the Sculptured Crosses of Ireland. It is common for the depiction of Adam And Eve to appear in the first tableau, representing mankind "in grace", living eternally with everything provided etc.

This is followed either by the 'expulsion from the garden' or (more often) by Cane Killing Abel. A definite symbol of the "Fall of Man".

The second part is not common, but it does appear on a few of them.

It is certainly represented on Muiredeach's Cross at Monasterboice - one of the best and datable to before 923 AD (when Muiredeach died).
