My friend uses one of these - along with a PDA

Works very well - has an overlay with Autoroute - nice....

Good price - looks good - what more do you want

I was looking at them myself - Will probs get one at the weekend

Yes I'm thinking about getting one too. Will come in handy for when the Beckensall archive gets off the ground (off the ground, geddit?)

And I like the pretty yellow one :-)

Yeah they sound pretty cool those GPS things just think of all the fun you could have, I mean I could hide something and you could find it...

Hi,

First thing does anybody have the "eTrex Summit"

The eTrex summit does not come with a PC cable. But hopefully has the ports so that i can connect to the PC. I know there is third party software out that can connect to the eTrex Summit rather than Garmins own software.

The cheapest i have seen the eTrex summit (locally) is Maplins Electronics at £199 and about 25 quid for a cable.

Thanks for the feedback on GPS's to date. Hopefully it will make the decision easier. :-)
