Prehistory in the Peak(Amazon link). This book really opened up the Peaks for me. Just the index, which covers over 100 sites, is enough. The photography is wonderful, and the text enlightening and atmospheric if you can shut yourself off to the tone and ignore the dodgy 'poetic' bits... |
