In Gringley on the Hill – on the A631

All I could find was the underground reservoir!

E.H. has nothing to say.

Don't mince your words Carl, are you saying it's no longer "the finest viewpoint in the county" ?!

You're supposed to be able to see Lincoln Cathedral and York Minster on a good day and they're blimmin miles away

Very flat round there then. There must be a power station or two to spot between there and York as well :) thesweetcheat Posted by thesweetcheat

All I could see was a high security fence, the top of what appeared to be the reservoir and a few trees plnted around its perimeter!
If a Hillfort was built here it certainly would'nt hve been much of an uphill struggle to reach it!

I guess in the flatlands you have to take what you can get. Maybe it was more of a spot to gather and have a picnic rather than have a big fight.

(ooh I do like the sculptural qualities of a nice power station. but that's just me)
