Bourton on the Hill

Long Barrow

Fieldnotes

Visited 13.8.11

Marked on the O/S map as Long Barrow and mentioned on Megalithic.

My 100th new site added!

Travelling west along the A44 out of Bourton on the Hill, turn left after the pub and park up on the verge outside the houses.
A public footpath sign points both east and west.
Take the path west but instead of following it to the right through some trees, continue straight ahead along the house drive way. The Long Barrow is soon easily seen on your left.

The Long Barrow itself is surrounded by a dry stone wall and covered in trees. It is about 2 metres high and 25 metres across.
There are good views to be had to the south.

Worth a visit when in the area as long as you don't mind walking up someone's drive?
