I only had half my eye on that programme last night, but it certainly seemed as though there were a large round cupmark on the bottom of the boulder they burned.
As a society we probably need to acknowledge the depth to which superstition orders our everyday lives. Burning stones because they embody primeval power is pretty daft, in the modern age - like saluting single magpies.
There are plenty of burned stones from a century and a half ago at Kirkhaugh. Maybe the film-makers might record these the next time...
Also, there's a vast number of megalithic remains waiting to be discovered in the North Pennines
