I agree with you about the nocturnal purpose.. my opinion, and I know I'm not alone in this, is that a fair few cupmark and bullaun sites were meant to be filled with water and the moon's reflection then viewed and venerated. Thanks re my other half...bikes and potholes after dark are not a good mix. Total hip replacement Tuesday and she's up and walking already. Hats off to the James Cook in Boro and a brave and gutsy woman. We'll be stoning together again soon enough, hopefully : )
