I saw these many years ago and had forgotten all about them, but stumbled across them again recently while looking through some images of Avebury on-line.

I think they are really special, something of the spirit of place or whatever you would prefer to describe it as has been captured and lives in these images.

I wouldn't for a second presume to know about her intention or thinking much beyond a quote "I like photographs which leave something to the imagination", but these images seem to me to be about a moment where the spirit of a location, or the whatever-it-is that gives a location 'vibe' (man) makes itself available to be captured. I think her talent lies perhaps not so much in the capturing of the image itself, but in the selection of which images to present as her work.

I love them, I want the bloke with the beard and red suit to throw at least one down the chimney.

They are beautiful, atmospheric images. Avebury and its surrounds beset by mist is something to behold - she certainly has captured that 'something' which leaves a lot to the imagination. I admit to never having heard of her before so thanks for posting this.

PS: You obviously haven't seen the John Lewis advert or you would now know the truth about Father Xmas :)
