The train route does Glesca, Arrochar, Crianlarich, Oban. It still runs.

I don't think the horseless carriage ever made it as far West as Lochgilphead and Ardrishaig and I doubt that any Iron Horse ever puffed up Kilmartin Glen towards Oban. You had to "get off at Arrochar and make your own way from there".

Sorry that sounds like a bit of a Viz reference.
