ello folks. just popping my head in again. I hope you are all ok?

Iam hoping that you wonderful people with far greater knowledge than myself point me in the best direction.
So say you are in Braunston Northamptonshire.
Which would be your favourite nearby sites to visit? Many thanks in advance.

If you are willing to venture south, I can tell you all about Buckinghamshire.

(I don't mean info in exchange for sexual favours)

There are some fantastic hillforts in Bucks, one or two up on the chiltern hills in woodland, very atmospheric and 'otherworldly' if you like that sort of thing.

We've got round barrows (in different area codes), we've got long barrows and a very interesting mound which I think fits nicely into the current interest in large round mounds 'n water thing. Even the name of it is interesting in that respect.

We've (I don't live there anymore) also got a rather lovely Saxon church if that floats your boat.

But all this 'wonderment' does mean a trip of about an hour from Northampton. Remember to hold your nose as you go past MK.
