Perhaps these have been online for a long time but I've just noticed them - they're the original drawings for the first ordnance survey maps, so they go back a long way (late 18th century, early 19th). I find it's just like time travel to see how the settlements and roads have changed in a place that you know well.
They only appear to be for the south of Britain, you can look up the right number on this index

and then zoom in (almost) to your heart's content.
