All too often obstructions are put in the way of footpaths - unrestrained cattle being used as something of a deterrent. I quite like cows but am never happy to be in the same field as them. In this instance, as in almost all other instances of cattle trampling on walkers - dogs were involved and as before, the advice seems to be let the dog go and it will run to safety!!
