Fantastic photos. Shocked to see it was 2008!
I remember going from Swanborough back to Avebury that morning and then walking up to the polisher for the first time. As I was walking along the gallops a massive hailstorm came seemingly out of nowhere and totally f'kin drenched me.. I was in the most inappropriate attire too, naturally.
Seeing the Polisher more than made up for it though. I remember being amazed at how smooth the bowl and grooves were, like marble. It's hard to contemplate the ancients when you've got wet denim clinging to your legs, but I did my best.
