In the 19th C it was a common site at solstices to see “Psychic Seorsa “ bring dead flea circuses back to life at certain Scottish four posters .

Sceptics were sent away with a flea in their ear.

I've recently been finding water & buried archaeological features by holding a sausage dog (called a dacshund by the establishment) out in front of me. Wherever it shits I put a tent peg in the ground. Via this method i've discovered two things, firstly there is a complex multi-phase site in my back garden and secondly it's difficult and unpleasant to clean dried dog shit off of tent pegs.
When it barks that means theres water. Most likely a spring. Yes, thats it, a spring.
I used a sausage dog as it is heavier than traditional rods, and less likely to move left or right in a strong breeze (although not impossible).

Do I win £5?
