I went past along the A303 at about 10.00am this morning. The morning mist had just lifted and Stonehenge positively sparkled. I didn't notice how far the fencing issue had progressed (the inner rope is definitely still in situ) but that stretch of the A344 has been filled in with soil and looked ready to be turfed. It looked so, so, much better - can't wait to visit properly. Had forgotten my camera in the rush to get out this morning so wasn't able to take any pics.

I'm really looking forward to seeing it once the road has been grassed over. I'm still wondering whether they'll stick to the original plan of allowing free access to anyone who chooses to avoid the visitors' centre. I'd be surprised though.
