Without knowing the detail, such a statement is most revealing. Sounds like it came from a complete s***head.
Was traveling towards Silbury many years ago from Bath to Marlborough, on a dubious mission with two companions of similar character. As we drew nearer to the 'mound' conversation turned to its purpose. After some debate, as we drew level with the hill, one of the company offered the following observation in a very dead-pan way.
"Obvious innit? It's where they emptied the skips from Stonehenge"
As good an explanation as many others I've heard....
