Er...No Goff..you didn't blindly believe in the existence of these two characters...you were given actual proof that they were real...by the "magical" appearance of gifts from them on the appropriate days....not only you but I'll bet most of your peers at the time were also being fed this conclusive proof too...and together you all looked forward to these magical visits (I wasn't immune to the constant evidence either)....then we all grew up and stopped believing...but not hoping it was all real. Some people then went on to develop supernatural abilities and with less evidence of these powers persuaded countless others to stop believing in our annual visitors and believe their magic instead and some do blindly believe.......how did that happen???
