I still maintain it isn't all hogwash...there are certainly a few ott boasts but it isn't all hogwash. As has been pointed out by others...it could be some reaction to water flowing...which might cause...an electro-magnetic field....vibrations in the soil...or maybe animals burrowing nearby allowing Radon to escape.
Rods do move whether or not this is involuntary muscle spasm of the holder or actual sensing of any of the above...but there is still no evidence other than apocryphal tales of being flung about or electrocuted by stones (usually by dowsers of dubious sentiment).
As I said earlier...nobody knows how or why placebos work with a percentage of the populace...perhaps the same goes for rod movement..
