That's a kind way of looking at it. But I find it hard to believe they don't have a secret inkling that one man's mysticism is another man's merde. Imagine being mystical through their letter box and thinking "they'll really appreciate this"....

Heres an experiment for people who leave offerings...try being mystical by leaving an offering of hard cash...eg a tenner....bet you that wouldn't be left lying around by the next visitor...it'd be a case of one man's offering being another man's beer tokens.
