Nor did the hauling. But isn't that evidence of inadequate experiments rather than evidence it couldn't be done (especially after a couple of hundred years of practice maybe)? I bet the ancient people would have picked a lot of holes in our re-enactments - and quite possibly have sniggered. (Rather like Stonelifter would if he saw my attempt at building a garden wall).
