And well, if you actually try and hunt down the site,( Pontsaeson) via a map, which I did, its next to Afon Nyfer, which just happens to empty out into the Irish Sea at Newport..

"The river rises at Blaencwm just east of Crymych. It flows northward then westward, skirting the slopes of the Preseli Hills. It passes through Felindre Farchog and Nevern, and reaches the sea at Newport" 18km long

Of course that is if I've got the right Pont Saeson, interesting though for transport ;)

Yes, Pont Saeson looks to be only a mile and a half max from the sea according to this http://www.archnews.co.uk/feat[...]-about-the-standing-stone.html
and it says "if some of the stones came from Pont Saeson, that’s low ground to the North of Mynydd Preseli. In other words, to get those stones to Milford Haven, our Neolithic building gang would have had to transport them over the Preseli Hills. Which seems, frankly, unlikely."

So.... a much longer sea journey than thought but a much shorter land one. Sounds like the probability has gone up as for these particular stones we have a water route all trhe way except for a little bit of hauling at each end. That just sounds right. Less miraculous, more believable!
