Now I'm not turning into a Tory and no I'm not against buses or tourists or stones but as a taxpayer I have to point out there's no moral or practical obligation on taxpayers to subsidise Sunday tourists on half empty buses. Midweek shopping by pensioners to stop country villages dying, maybe, Sunday Fun trips maybe not. Let the Red Lion subsidise the tourists' bus. Let the tourists pay the full economic price (like I do in my car when I drive to Avebury). Why should taxpayers pick up the tab?
If the passengers are willing to pay the full cost I absolutely guarrantee someone will provide the service.
