Thanks for your comment Geoff, it is Swindon Borough Council (Conservative) who have withdrawn funding rather than the bus company. The ramifications of this for people wishing to visit Avebury by public transport on a Sunday cannot be underestimated. Am very glad I applied for a postal vote in the forthcoming local elections as I will be in Northumbria when they take place. I've already voted and it ain't the for the current shower that's for sure.
Well, why would they care, it's not like they'd ever need the service is it.
I'd guess they see the service as something that runs from nowhere to a few villages in the sticks, not something most would miss.
Same old out of touch tossers eh.
We suffered something similar a couple of years ago, if i now want to wildcamp in the Alport area on a Friday night i have to hitch hike back, as the bus only runs week days, well that or take the van, which means no linear walks.
