Thanks Wideford, I'll speak to VBB off-forum about the possibility of getting a petition going - as he is the person who raised the subject.

Summerlands, I understand they want to convert a building next to the toilet block just as you go into the village. Having thought it through, my main objection is to the National Trust running everything around Avebury which they seem to do in a fairly autocratic manner. The discussion regarding this has taken place under the 'Avebury Pub Fire' thread - perhaps I should have raised the matter of a petition there but thanks for replying anyway.
