Hmm, just checked our current GPS units (Garmins) and for lat long posn format there are only WGS 84 or WGS 72 datums offered apart from the country specific ones. No mention of MSL.

The position format/datum we use has been in the methods section of our site since we started posting GPS fixes.

GE uses MSL and gps WGS 84 .
For the UK OSGB 36 is worth considering if you have the option ,it is probably more accurate than WGS 84 .
