Don't get me wrong, i still love my paper maps but i find the gps much easier to get a OS gr in crappy weather, it's probably more accurate too, which as already stated if essential if your adding a site to a database.
Even with the gps i still carry a map and compass when mountain walking etc, i've yet to have either run outta batteries on me. ; )
